Terry Eddy Terry Eddy was born in Boston, Massachusetts, grew up in Connecticut and has recently returned to the area after 25 years in Texas. She received a BA in Art History from Hollins College and has studied art at the San Antonio Art Institute, The Coppini Academy of Fine Arts, Anderson Ranch Art Center and The Lyme Academy. She has studied with many recognized artists such as Reginald Rowe, Gerald Brommer, Linda Doll, Serge Hollerbach and others. She has received several awards for her watercolors and has exhibited in San Antonio and locally in Connecticut. I love the spontaneity I feel when painting directly from nature whether it is landscape, a still life or life drawing. I have always loved to draw and consequently love line. I will often go back into a watercolor and add line or texture with pencil, charcoal or pastel in order to add interest or variety. I think that it is more interesting from the viewer's vantage to see some mystery, lost edges, or added line in a painting rather than just a photo copy of the subject. |
