Sara Drought Nebel Sara Drought Nebel was educated at Bennington College in Bennington, VT and Silvermine Guild School of the Arts in New Canaan, CT. She has studied with such notable artists as; Clifford Jackson, Charles Sovek and Ann Toulmin-Rothe, and is, herself, an award-winning painter. She has exhibited her portraits and paintings in various galleries throughout the northeast, as scenery for theater productions in Norwalk, CT, Westport, CT, New York City, a billboard in Toronto, Canada, backdrops for a segment on Sesame Street(CTW), and illustrations for books, magazines and murals. Currently, she teaches Portraiture and Floorcloth Design at The Guilford Handcraft Center and at her own, Earthspirit Studio and Gallery, near downtown Madison. Her paintings can be viewed online at www.handcraftcenter.org, and at Silver Moon Jewelry(near the Madison Art Cinema), in the summer at RJ Cafe, in RJ Julia Booksellers(Downtown Madison) and in juried and other exhibits along the Connecticut shoreline. Sara is a member of many art organizations including, The Madison Art Society, The Clinton Art Society and The Guilford Art League. Sara's poem, "Earthspirit" was chosen to be included in America at the Millenium: The Best Poems and Poets of the 20th Century. Greeting cards which feature her expressionistic paintings and descriptive poetry, and limited edition prints are being sold at local bookstores and galleries, the studio/gallery, and will soon be distributed nation-wide. Her first book of poems, entitled Earthspirit Words - A Painter's Pen, about the New England landscape she loves and paints. She has also written and illustrated several books for young children, and her biography is listed in Who's Who in America 2002. Sara, her husband and three children reside in Madison, CT. |
