Jerzy Pawlusinski Jerzy Pawlusinski was born in Poland in 1943. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the State School of Advanced Art Studies in Lodz. He began his artistic career in textile design, specializing in silk prints. While he was working in print design, he continued to work in oil and acrylic. In 1985, he visited the United States for the first time. He had already begun to work in hard colored pencil. He was very impressed with the variety of fruits and vegetables available in this country and their colors and shapes. He continued to work in hard colored pencil, developing his unique style, using these wonderful elements of nature as subjects for the remarkable still lifes he continues to create. His images, which are clean and spare, are pared down to the bare minimum. Every element is beautifully executed, including the shadows. He creates them with the use of many layers and colors which gives them their depth and rich texture. Jerzy Pawlusinski has had exhibitions at galleries in Darien, Connecticut as well as in Briar Cliff Manor and Mamaroneck, New York. His originals are in private collections in Poland, England, Germany and the United States. |
