Janice Champagne A poet and an avid gardener, Janice Champagne takes this expression to another level with her paintings, which she describes as "poems without words." Her extensive gardens are the inspiration for her numerous florals. While she now paints exclusively with acrylics, she began painting with oils in the 1960's. She has studied at the University of Hartford, Hartford College for Women and Trinity College. She taught painting and drawing for many years, and did workshops in the South Windsor Public Schools. Ms. Champagne has exhibited widely, and while she also paints landscapes, seascapes and still lifes, she is best known for her florals. Her paintings are in many private collections, and she is presently exhibiting at the Greene Gallery in Guilford, Connecticut. |
