Don Pontious
A Michigan native, Don studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art for two years (1948-1950). Drafted into the Army Corp of Engineers at Ft. Belvoir, Va. during the Korean War, he served two years as an illustrator of training aids and manuals. On the G.I. Bill completed four years at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduating in 1955.

An illustrator in studios in Chicago and Saginaw, Mi. and Norwich, Ct. he worked on accounts for General Motors, AC Spark Plug, Dow Chemical and Schaeffer Pen to name a few. Retiring after 34 years from General Dynamics, Electric Boat Div. as a Senior Designer/Technical Illustrator, his work included illustrating brochures and newsletters, overhead projector and 35 mm slide presentations, safety, security and education posters and retirement cards.

His leisure time allows him his love of watercolors including teaching classes in it in Estero, Florida.
